Academic Standards

State Academic Standards

Academic standards specify what students should know and be able to do. The State of Wisconsin, via the Department of Public Instruction, has standards for each academic area. Local districts have the option of adopting these recommended standards, revising these standards, or adopting alternative standards.

Wisconsin Academic Standards

Sauk Prairie Academic Standards

School boards are required to annually recognize what adopted academic standards are in effect for the school year. Use the link below to view the Sauk Prairie School District's Annual Notice regarding academic standards.

Further, districts are required to notify parents and guardians of the standards to be used for the upcoming school year, prior to the start of the school.

  • Art & Design - Locally designed standards that draw on the best of state and national model standards

  • Music - Locally designed standards that draw on the best of Wisconsin Music Educators Association standards and national model standards

  • Science - Next Generation Science Standards
