❤️**Valentine’s with Vets!**❤️
Today, our 1st and 2nd graders at MCS had the honor of hosting **"Valentine’s with Vets"**—a heartwarming morning filled with gratitude, fun, and lots of smiles! 🎉💌
Our special guests enjoyed **coffee & donuts** ☕🍩 before joining the students for some **fun games and activities**. We were thrilled to welcome **local veterans, as well as parents and grandparents** of our students who have bravely served our country.
A huge **THANK YOU** to all the veterans who joined us today! Your service and sacrifices mean the world to us, and we loved celebrating YOU! ❤️💙 #ValentinesWithVets #MCS #HonoringOurHeroes #SPSD # togetherwesoar

Dinner, a planetarium, stars and planets study with telescopes, space "crafts," a photo booth and a nighttime illuminated prairie walk were enjoyed by all. Many thanks to the teachers, numerous donors, and Home and School Association who helped make this such a fun and memorable night. #togetherwesoar #MCS #merrimac

Thanks to Sand County Foundation, students are winter sowing native prairie seeds. These seeds need to be winter stratified in order to germinate! Students also direct sowed the seeds they collected last fall from the pollinator bed into the prairie.
