Meet Stella Opahle, Library Media Specialist for the Middle School and High School. Stella, a Sauk Prairie alum, has a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
“I decided to be an educator for many reasons -- but the most prominent reason is my love of learning and the hope to instill this in young people. The talented educators I was exposed to as a kid were also truly an inspiration. Growing up in the Sauk Prairie School District, there were several wonderful educators that embraced me for who I was 100% and created fun and engaging learning environments. I feel lucky to have so many special memories that are tied to so many of the educators I've had throughout my life! Truly, their impact on me was profound... and I feel extra lucky that I will get to work alongside some of them now!”
Stella enjoys any type of crafting and is currently crocheting a sweater.
Welcome back to Sauk Prairie, Stella! #togetherwesoar #saukprairieschools

We are excited to welcome new staff members to the Sauk Prairie School District…
Meet Erin Miller, Speech and Language Pathologist for Sauk Prairie Middle School and Merrimac Community School. Erin, who resides in Cross Plains, has a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She also has a cross categorical special education license from Viterbo.
“I was inspired to become a speech/language pathologist because of a family I worked for in college whose daughter needed services. While there are a variety of settings available to speech language pathologists, schools offer a unique opportunity of seeing students on a regular basis and forming connections that can make a real impact. Growing up, there were several teachers who made profound differences in my education and life, and those lessons continue to influence me today. By working at Sauk Prairie, I hope to positively influence students in the way that my teachers did. What's more, being able to work with students in more than just a clinical setting, such as in the classroom or in the community, helps to generalize skills in a meaningful way."
In her free time, Erin loves to read, especially books about history. This summer she traveled across Europe on a World War II tour. She published a non-fiction book in 2018.
Welcome to Sauk Prairie, Erin!
