The Board of Education consists of seven residents of the school district who are elected by the people to represent them in setting policies and directing school programs. Members are elected at-large to represent specific areas.

The areas of representation are as follows:

• 1 Member - Towns of Berry, Dane, Mazomanie, Roxbury, and Springfield

• 1 Member - Village of Merrimac, and Towns of Caledonia, Merrimac, and West Point

• 1 Member - Towns of Franklin, Honey Creek, and Troy

• 1 Member - Towns of Prairie du Sac and Sumpter

• 3 Members - Villages of Prairie du Sac and Sauk City
